Monique Makon
Monique Makon is a singer and performer born in Barcelona to Cameroonian parents, known around 9 Barris as "the diva of the neighbourhood" — and anyone who's seen her live knows that's not an exaggeration. She stands out for her voice, her personality, and a stage presence that's hard to put into words: her sound moves between reggae, soul, R&B, jazz, blues, funk and rock, genres she interprets through a personal, contemporary lens full of feeling, without ever settling on just one.
Monique's career began taking shape at Cabal Musical, the artistic mentorship programme run by Taller de Músics, where she picked up the tools and experience to develop her own voice as a performer. Since then she's moved through different projects and line-ups — The Soul Titoo's, Aura, the tribute show Back to Amy alongside the Original Jazz Orquestra of Taller de Músics — building, song by song, the voice that today belongs to her and no one else.
In 2026 Monique took a decisive step: her run on the fourth season of Eufòria, 3Cat's musical talent show, carried her all the way to the final, where she placed second. Second in the vote, yes — but first in force, first in stage command, first in a voice you recognise from the opening bar. The season gave her more than a ranking: it gave her a seat at the table.
Off stage, Monique keeps a strong connection to her roots and to the cultural mix that shapes who she is. Her career is the meeting point of different influences, experiences and cultures, turning music into a space for freedom and identity. She's now building out her artistic world further, with a sound that combines a powerful voice, a one-of-a-kind personality, and a very particular way of understanding music and the stage.
